Happy (ahem,cough,cough) Easter!

Dying eggs is one of my favorite traditions about Easter. This was the first year Allison got to participate. My whole family gathered at mom's house and spent the evening dying 3-4 dozen eggs. We like to let them soak a long time in hopes that the colors will be extra vibrant. Some were but others stayed the same color no matter how long they soaked. We had a great time and only temporarily stained her counter tops a little bit.... On Easter morning it was fun to discover that the Easter Bunny had been to our house! He left a trail of eggs to follow from Allison's bedroom to her hidden basket. Clever bunny. Also, Dave and I would like to thank the Easter Bunny for not forgetting about us and grandpa. Every "kid" loves Easter baskets!

Our beautiful girl in her Easter dress. Simply lovely.

We are thankful to be able to celebrate Easter because of the resurection of Jesus Christ. It is because of His atonement that we can continually be forgiven for our sins and short comings and improve who we are everyday.

Happy Easter! (just a little late)

Swimming in the pool, in the pool!

Josh and Kira called up a while back and asked if they could come over and go swimming with Allison. What a treat! Allison loves to go swimming and we love that they wanted to spend time with her. They had this great/totally funny idea to put Alli in this little pool (it is kept beside the big pool) and then put it in the big pool. Allison had the best time and was smiling the whole time while she was "in the pool, in the pool". Too funny!

A trip to the pool would not be complete without dips in the hot tubby to warm up. She loves to go back and forth between the pool and hot tub. She only sits on the first step but it is maybe one of her very favorite things to do. A girl after my own heart! I cannot wait until I am non pregnant, cleared to go and then just soak for a very long time! Anyway, enough dreaming.... Thanks for coming swimming and loving our little girl! We love you guys!

Alli Sad Face

"Why mommy......? Why do you want to take my picture when it is late at night, when I am wearing mismatched jammies under my princess dress, and I have two different boots on? I thought we were just going for a little walk before I go to bed. That makes me sad." Okay so not a direct quote but I am sure that what she was thinking. And my answer to her is, "because sweetheart you are two years old and perfect and adorable. You chose this outfit and its mismatchiness (word?) only adds to your cuteness and I want to remember this side of you forever. You make us smile all the time. So thanks, my love, for putting up with my picture taking. I just can't get enough of you! Now let's go for a walk...."

Dear blog,

So sorry, I feel bad that I have been neglecting you. I have been so busy these past few weeks and am just a little run down. With less than a month and a half to go, 43 days exactly, until our little boy arrives. I often find myself choosing nap time over you while Allison naps too. I will find some energy and blog like crazy soon. Lots to catch up on.....again. See you soon.
Love, me

What we've been up to the past couple months...

Last night Julia sang the National Anthem at the Salt Lake Bees game. We went to hear her and to celebrate our buddy Cole's birthday. It was fun although....the night didn't exactly turn out as planned. We missed Julia singing, it was freezing cold, windy, and rainy, and we left after about an inning 'n a half. We ended up going to dinner at Ihop. The hot chocolate was especially yummy and we had a good time. Happy Birthday Cole! Julia was promised another game this season. We are looking forward to that game, hopefully it will be warmer!
Allison went to her friend Will's birthday party. Dave took her and said she had a great time. I was so sad I had to miss out on going. Dave said when he took this picture that Will and Alli were hugging and spinning in circles. Cute little friends! We love Will, he is seriously adorable!
Our lovebug keeps getting cuter and more fun everyday! We have had some very fun evenings at home lately. Most of the time they include big messes, big smiles, lots of dancing, lots of baby dolls and, of course, cozy jammies. Love it, love her!

In March we went to Disney on Ice!

When we got there we went to say hi to Scotty who was at work for the Jazz away game. Then we saw everyone's best friend Mickey Mouse! This was a great show with of lots of characters!

Most importantly all the Princesses were there! Loved spending time as a family! I love the expression of her face. She adores Cinderella! We had a very fun and happy night!
And last but not least...these are from way back in February. Although with the spring (snowy) weather we have been having lately this very well could have been last week! Allison can almost always be found playing in her new playhouse at Labu and Papa S's house while wearing a beautiful dress. She loves to cook "dinner" for everyone. Here she is sharing an ice cream with Labu. Later that day she helped them build a snow bear! What a fun day, thanks for playing Grandma and Grandpa!

And now (I think) we are pretty much caught up!
