You Know You Were a Kid in the 90's if...

You have ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCH!"
You remember TGIF on ABC and loved it
"Down down baby, down down the roller coaster, sweet sweet baby I'll never let you go, shimmy shimmy cocoa puffs, shimmy shimmy rock, shimmy shimmy cocoa puffs, shimmy shimmy rock"
You remember when Kurt Cobain and 2Pac died
You know that "WHOA" comes from Joey on Blossom and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie on Full House
You begged for some GAK
You remember reading "Goosebumps"
You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school
You danced to "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls
You remember slap bracelets
You still get the urge to say "NOT" after almost every sentence
You used to listen to the radio all day just to record your favorite song....with a tape recorder
Where in the world is Carmen San Diego?
You remember Super Nintendo
You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos
You remember watching Home Alone 1, 2 , and 3
"I've fallen and I can't get up"
You remember going to the roller skating rink before there were roller blades
Two words...Trapper Keeper
You remember when you started to buy Cd's
You loved New Kids on The Block
You knew all the characters and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"
You played and/or collected "Pogs"
You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano
You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles
All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand
You remember when the new Beanie Babies and Talking Elmo were sold out
You used to wear stick on earrings
You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"
You know the Macarena by heart
"Talk to the hand"
You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"
You remember a time before cell phones, texting, internet, ipods, Facebook, MySpace, and PlayStation
Light up sneakers were cool
You rented VHS tapes, not DVDs
Caller ID was a new thing
When we recorded shows from tv onto tapes in the VCR
You called the radio station to request songs
You had a walkman
You remember when 2Pac and Biggie where alive
When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever

Who would have thought all this would eventually disappear
Who would have thought we would miss the 90's!

An Excuse to Celebrate!

Today was Allison's half birthday, she is now 18 months old. We had a very merry UN-birthday celebration in honor of her. We spent the day doing lots of fun things. First we took Allison to Toys-R-Us and she got a present! It was a little basketball hoop. We went to try a new restaurant for lunch. It was not great and we probably won't be going back there. Then it was nap time and when Miss Bear woke up her basketball stand was all set up! Dad was so excited. She loves putting the ball in and hearing the cheers she gets after :) She is such a happy girl. After lots of playing we had a few family members come over; we ordered pizza and watched the Olympics. Then it was off to watch Dad play a basketball game at the church. Followed by watching a few videos of our baby, a quick tub, and then off to bed.
Happy Half Birthday Baby Bear! We love you!

Valentines Day

One of the joys of having a little girl is dressing her up and getting outfits for the different holidays! Here are her Valentine's outfits!
We had a great Valentines Day. Don't let the tears fool you. Allison really wanted to play with Aunt Mimmie (my sister Kim) but her mean old Mom and Dad wanted to take a picture. So sad!
We celebrated yesterday and Dave and I went out on a big group date with his family. We went to a restaurant called Sostanza out in Tooele, we went out there because that is where Jerrod and Kim live. The food was delicious! After dinner everyone went over to their house and Kim had made a huge spread of yummy desserts. She made BTS cake, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered pretzels and carmel covered pretzels with chocolate drizzles! Can you tell our family kinda likes chocolate? We chatted and indulged and had a fun time. Thanks!

Our little valentine got to spend the evening with her Grandma and Grandpa Spongberg. They decorated cookies and played lots of games. She always has the best time with them and I think the feeling is mutual. She is a lucky girl to have so many people who love her so much!

Happy Valentines Day!

...FHE...

Alli got a new swimsuitSo we went swimming for Family Home Evening.
I really think our family is part fish, we LOVE swimming and/or soaking in the hot tub.
Allison has been getting more and more brave with being in the water. This last time we went swimming she would superman float on our hands going back and forth between Dave and I, she went under the water and didn't cry, and she would stand on the steps without us holding onto her and walk around (of course we were right next to her)! That is progress considering the previous few times we have taken her she would cling to us like her life depended on it, which it did, but now she will let us hold her out away from our bodies and not get scared.
Way to go little fishy!
Alli and Daddy off to the pool...
I love this picture.

Miracles Do Happen

My heart is full and my thoughts are focused right now. An old friend of mine linked me to this blog and I am so glad I read through their blogs from the past 9 days.
I don't know this family but what has been happening in their life has affected mine.
Life is so fragile and precious.
I know I am guilty of feeling that the same way this mother did while she quickly went down the hall, straightened the shoes, quickly put the folded laundry on the shelf....multi-tasking while not concentrating on the most important thing in her life.
No big deal, right? WRONG!
Her life turned upside down in the few minutes time she was right down the hall.
Things can wait, laundry can wait.
This was a powerful reminder to me. Her story, strength, and testimony has humbled me but has also given me strength. May God continue to bless their family. Hold your loved ones a little tighter and a little longer. Families are Forever.....
